Volbella is the newest FDA approved dermal filler specifically developed for the delicate lip area. As we age our face starts to loose volume and this is specifically seen in the fullness of the lips. As the lips shrink, wrinkles become more visible, sometimes called smokers lines. This new product developed by Allergan, is soft to the touch and will last up to 1 year which was not available until now.
What is Volbella?
This dermal filler is composed of hyaluronic acid which is similar to most on the market. What makes it unique is the Vycross technology, which gives a softer more natural feel and look. We have all seen that duck lip look and with this filler, when used correctly you are less likely to get this.
What are the Side Effects?
With most dermal fillers there is a slight chance of an allergic reaction but it is usually caused from the lidocaine which is in the product to reduce discomfort. We do not recommend you use this product if you do have an allergic reaction to lidocaine.
Overall patients will feel slight discomfort during the actual injection of the product which is reduced by a topical numbing agent applied 20 minutes before the procedure. After Volbella has been injected patients may experience tenderness, redness and possibly some bruising but it is rare.
Who is a Good Candidate for Volbella?
The only people who are not able to receive Volbella are those that are nursing or pregnant. It is also recommended that the procedure be postponed if any signs of a coldsore are present. That being said, if you have lost volume in your lips or you were just born with them being thin then this is the dermal filler for you. If smokers lines are aging your face let us show you how Volbella can make a change.
